Top Jumping Breeding Line - Stationed in Germany, near Munich, Flaneur is the last approved FANTUS stallion.
Flaneur's Holsteiner Stem is 1692.
Fantus is one of the most significant sons of the HOLSTEIN foundation stallion FARNESE, who carries the legendary ACHILL blood in his pedigree. Fantus sired, among others, the international showjumper Funky Town (ridden by Gilbert Böckmann, Thomas Frühmann and Hugo Simon). Fantus’s paternal half-brother, the Farnese-son Farmer, was the Olympic horse of Franke Sloothak (1984 Olympics in Los Angeles).
On the dam's side, Fantus is represented in the pedigree of numerous significant sires and international jumpers. Lord Lennox, Lancer I, II and III all stem out of a Fantus dam. Calvaro Z, ridden to international success by the Whitaker brothers, is also out of a Fantus mother (Silver medal at the European Championships 1997, 2nd place at the German Classics and Pulsar Crown series, Olympics in Sydney, 2000).
Flaneur is now back in Germany after a number of years standing at stud in Sweden. He is a very active and sprightly 27-year-old with beautiful movements and still a love for jumping (but not allowed!).
Flaneur has sired many significant offspring who have gone to a number of different countries, including the United Kingdom. His daughter Zaratora, of the Birknaes stud in Denmark, is the mother of the Danish Holsteiner Premium foal of 2005, Birknaes Azor (by Arcus).
His semen is now limited and so this very successful jumping breeding line, first generation from Fantus, will probably only be available for a short time in the future. Frozen semen is available. Please contact us for advice on the best lines to match him with. |
